Tusshar Kapoor tells TOI that he’s never fallen prey to any pressures.

And the actor whose recent spate of comic fare saw the filmmakers laugh their way to the banks is determined to continue his success run this year as well, by doing what he seems to be doing best: making people laugh.
Tusshar has a couple of comedies up his sleeve including Run Bhola Run, C Kompany and Golmaal Returns. However, inspite of his flair for comedy, the actor insists hes not just a funny man and that comedy is merely a shade of his personality. A fact most would vouch for. After all, Tusshar looked as convincing as a dreaded gangster in Shootout At Lokhandwala as he did playing a cop in Khakee. And, if he sent audiences into fits of laughter as a mute guy in Golmaal: Fun Unlimited, hes also pulled off a lover-boy act with great ease and aplomb in the past. And, thats how I like it a mixed fare on my platter, says the actor.
Striving to strike a balance in the genre of films he picks, the scale this year, however, tilts in favour of comedies. Is it because of his high success ratio with comic fare? No, not at all. Its not been a conscious decision to only opt for comedies. Its just that these scripts clicked with me. But, did the past few films that failed to generate much interest at the BO leave a bitter aftertaste? Flops dont affect me that bad. Luckily, Ive always had films thatve helped me bounce back. And, their success has served as dessert to remove all traces of the bitter aftertaste! laughs the actor.
Talking about his recently released comedy film, Tusshar reveals that hes maha-excited about his wanna-be gangster role in the comic flick. I belong to a family of gangsters and set out with my mothers blessings to commit my careers first murder, says Tusshar about his character. A far cry from his Dilip Buva avatar, Tusshars loved the way his role has shaped up. A mix-up of names leads to absolute confusion in this one, he adds. Having tackled the burden of expectations early on of having to live up to his illustrious family name what with his dad Jeetendras successful innings in Bollywood and an equally famous sister, telly queen Ektas success roll Tusshar reveals that he has never fallen prey to such pressures. I cater only to my own expectations. Theres never been any pressure from family to live up to their name or anything. Dad is a legend and so is Ekta. Besides, how can there be competition between a dad, son and a sister? We are all content in our own spaces. I only wish to raise the bar of my performance with every film. I have a long way to go, but my journeys already begun! he smiles.
